Use of order_maintain inside a date rule FM

Hi everyone, I have a doubt about using the CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN inside a date rule FM, is this possible ? I´m trying to set some dates inside this rule by fill the et_appointment and then by using the CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN, Is this the best way to set many dates in the document inside a date rule FM !? I already try but It causes some recursion.
