St03N not collecting all data

HI

does anyone know why would st03n not collect all proper data, we found out recently that a user had scheduled a program as a background job to run and it ran successfully but when we look on that date we don't see that it had run and even that user doesn't come out in the history

any ideas why?

regards

Sorry I misunderstood the question. The issue can be that in ST03N, the name of the job will show up only if it is the name of the program. Look for the name of the program in ST03N and not the name of the job. Also, check if the username in the "Step" part of the job is the same as the user who ran the job. If the Step user differs, then you might not see this in ST03N.

My only suggestion is, before you conclude that ST03N is not showing the correct information, check more than one scenario.

Is your SAPOSCOL running on OS?

Also is the standard job SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR running sucessfully?

Hi Anita,

Please check below two SAP Notes.

926290 - SWNCCOLL: SAP workload NW collector collects no data

1443908 ST03N - Weekly workload data can no longer be displayed

If still your problem is not solved, please let us know what is your exact issue.

Sujit.

thanks Sujit

the time zone setting is correct in our system and the other note doesn't help since the week data is available

our issue is:

on the 14th we found out that not all data was collected, we were searching in st03n for a program name which we knew it was executed successfully in a background job but didn't find any trace of it, also looked for the user and found out that there are no entries for that users

on 15th of march, the whole day is missing from st03n

but march 16th is there

so was wondering why is this happening

Hi Anita,

I am sorry. I did not understand which job you are talking about (and which report?)?

What is the connection between the job executed by the user and your data in ST03N.

SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR is the job which collects the data.

Also SAPOSCOL should be running.

Which job you are referring here? Is it collecting data now?

Regards,

Sujit.

Sorry Sujit that I wasn't clear

the job i was referring to was a z program that was run be a user in the background.

that is how we started knowing that there were missing data in st03n

we were trying to see how many time that program ran and who ran it

so we went to see in st03n but we found out that there was no history for that program in there or any history for the user who ran the z program in the background.

there is no connection to SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR background job. this job is running successful in our system and all other data is being collected

so the data that was missing was on the 14th of march and then we found out that there is no entry of any sort in st03n for 15th of march, but we have data for 16th of march.

so now we want to know what happened

i hope this is clear now

Please check the previous runs of SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR and its logs. This job runs hourly. so was it running that way during this time frame.

If data is missing I guess this job was failing for that time duration due to some reason.

Also Check system logs, They may have been Tablespace overflow or some space issue preventing any updates in database. However this should result in SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR job getting cancelled in that time frame.
