Hello,
I have a problem. I have a SAP BPC 7.0 SP4. And I want to restore from a Backup (NetBackup) some data, not all the AppSet (It's not a SAP BPC Server manager Backup ). How can I do this?
I have thought about restoring it in another AppSet and with a especial package, copy the filtered data from one AppSet to Another.
Is this possible?
Or is there a easier whay to do it?
Best Regards.

Hi,
I didnt understand NetBackup. However, if you can restore it in another appset, then you can export the selected data from the SQL tables into an excel file. And then import this file into your original appset.
Hope this helps.

Daniel provided also the select to be done :).
This was what I meant.

Hello Sorin
What do yo mean with "normal selection you can transfer the data from backup into actual database.".
Do you mean doing "Select" directly to the tables and extract the data?

HIi Pablo
You can restore the database to another database name, then in SQL Server management Studio, you can use the Import / Export Data Wizard to extract the data to the desired destination.
or alternatively you can use the following example code to insert the restored data
Insert into DetsinationDatabase.dbo.tblName
select col1,col2,col3 from RestoredDatabase.dbo.tblName
Hope this helps
Kind Regards
Daniel

If I understood correct actually you are speaking about backup of database.
So right now we are not speaking about BPC we are speaking about recovering some data from backup database.
This has nothing to do with BPC.
You can restore the backup database with abother name and after that with normal selection you can transfer the data from backup into actual database.
Depending by backup capabilities you can extract the data which you want directly from backup.
But again it is not BPC specific it is more backup and restore capabilities of tool used.
