Updating infoObject characterstics authorizations from R/3

I would like to know whether we can update the APO analysis authorizations infoObjects (rsecadmin) by directly transferring data from SAP R/3 production system. SAP R/3 production system is already connected to APO production system, can we transfer the infoObject characterstic (e.g. currency, customers) from R/3 system. I hope there is no SAP security concern related to it as we are bypassing the Dev and Quality system and directly updating the Production system infoObject authorizations.

Or alternatively as the current approch, we are manually updating the analysis authorization InfoObjects via Rsecadmin in dev system and transferring to QA and Production.
