Need to define new Company

Hello Experts,

We are already running our PRODUCTION instance of SAP ESO version 5.1.08 Patch 04. Recently upgraded from version 4.4 E.

We are running with setup as "DEFAULT CLUSTER", 1 Enterprise Context and 1 Company defined in the ESO instance.

Now we have a requirement where I need to segregate the data based upon two set of users. So that If one set of users logs into the system they should see their part of data and when second set of users logs in they should see their own set of data.

They both should not see each others data. There should be logical partitioning in the system. The data I meant to say is the Projects, RFx, Auctions and Master Agreements.

Please advise how can we accomplish this setup. Is it going to invlove creation of new cluster, context and then company. If yes then is it possible to do with running PROD instance OR this can be done only at initial setup of system and cannot be done now.

Please help.

the context is used as a logical partition of the data. You have the ability to create multiple contexts, each with their own companies.

Master Data (not business documents) is defined at the enterprise level (context) and business documents (projects, RFx,...) at the company level. All companies in the same enterprise context will share their master data.

So based on your requirements, I think it will be necesarry to create multiple contexts.
