Infosource is not available in source system

Hi

I did a Generate export DS on a DSO in BI 7.0 system. Now I went to APO BI system and replicated that DS successfully. Now when I tried to activate that DS, it gives me an error saying

" Infosource 8*** is not available in source system ***clnt100. (Message no. R3101).

The process to create a transfer structure for the InfoSource 8*** was terminated.

InfoSource 8*** is not known in source system ***CLNT100.

The reason for this is that the InfoSource has been deleted from the source system, but the metadata has not yet been adjusted. This means that the metadata for source system ***CLNT100 is therefore obsolete in the Business Information Warehouse.

System Response

The action was terminated; data changes were reversed.

Procedure

Adjust the metadata for source system **DCLNT100 in the Business Information Warehouse. "

--- all this is done in Dev environment of 2 BI systems.

May I know whats the wrong with the DS ? Its available in Source BI. But not with prefix of 8. Surely its created in target BI.

I do not follow what could go wrong.

Can anyone suggest to me on what should I do ?

Thanks

Venkat

Hello Venkat,

Please check the datasource in the table ROOSOURCE on the target system to see

if there is an A version. If not, please generate a change request on the source system

from RSA6 for this datasource and then transport this datasource to the target system at first.

After that, please transport the BW related objects (transfer rule, transfer structure and so on)

with transaction RSOR, and then transport the BW related objects to the target system.

Best Regards

Hi All

Sorry for the delay in replying. Our BASIS has fixed as there was some problem in UVERS table. It came during some patch.

So they have fixed the connection.

Thanks to you all

Hi,

We need not generate an export datasource for a DSO. When the DSO is activated it automatically gets generated. In the case of an Infocube, you would need to generate it manually.

When you replicated the datasource, it should have got replicated as a 3.x datasource (there would be a small sqaure symbol before the datasource). You can not activate 3.x datasources. These get into active state when tranfer rules are created and activated. Not sure whether there would be 3.x and 7.x objects in APO as well. If there is such a thing, you could try to migrate the datasource to 7.x....using transaction RSDS, if it works in APO system...and create transformations to the targets.

Hi

Very sorry for replying so late, as i was travelling a lot.

Barry, the connections are alright.

Murali : Earllier too, I have exported two DSOs. No problem. Now I want to export the Master data DSO from BI to another BI (7.0) as RSDS Datasource, i am getting this error saying that Infosource not available in source sys. It asks to adjust the metadata for Source sys. I don't know what this mean ? So I can't activate this datasource in the target BI.

Why do you say to replicate as 3.x ds ? as i did before as 7.x in APO.

Any clues pls ?

Thanks

Venkat

Hello Venkat,

Did you check the source system from the context menu in the Admninistrator

Workbench?

Did you test the authority for the concerned destinations (SM59) in both

BW and the source system?

Did you make sure that the destinations point to the right system (host

, system number, etc.)?

These errors normally arises due to a wrong myself system connection,

therefore, please check again the myself connection (see note 538052).

Please check remote user authorization (see note 150315), you need

profiles S_BI-WX_RFC and S_BI-WHM_RFC

Hope this helps

Best Regards

Barry
