Hi BW Expert
We are evaluating make Precalculated Workbooks and we have a doubt, BW Precalculation server and BW server can be installed on the same machine?

Egly

Hi,
It is better to have them on separate systems.

Hi,
It is very clear that BW system is a resource intensive m/c and mostly works on the varients of unix OS. BW systems are generally high end server grade m/c with oracle installed in it.
But the pre cal server is entirely different thing. I have got pre cal server installed in my set up. here in pre cal server u can take a PC with XP as an OS. That is recommended strongly bu SAP . Though pre cal works on 2003 as well but best works with XP. This works with the varient of Microsoft OS. And Pre cal server is only used for pre cal of work books while broadcasting

Hi.
It is not recommended.
But some users do that.
I recommend you to install on a separated machine. This will avoid some issues.
Thanks.
