Not able to maintain postion in PA30

Hi Seniors,

I was tring to hire a person in PA40 . i selected initial hiring and executed ,the transaction went on to Action 0000 but some how i

existed 0000 without putting in any details into the system due to certain reason assuming that i could maintaing the Action in PA30,here the sytem has already created the position PERNR.

Now when i try to go through PA30>> create the system is not allowing me to go ahead, it gives me the error>>> number range is internal,then the sytem is creating the Next PERNR....like wise there are 3 unwanted PERNRS has been created who doesnt have any filed details in them.

i wanted to check the details of the employee in PU00 but it says Personnel number not assigned .

Please help me out with this.

Go to Tcode PA30, input the personnel number and then try to *create* IT0000 , 0001 and 0002. You can use any data to create those infoytpes (As you want to delete this personnel number)

Once you have created the data through PA30 then go to PU00 and delete the personnel number.

Hi Sarkar,

The issue is the system is not permiting to create any data in PA30,it just gives an error about NUMBER Range & starts creating the next PERNR.

2nd thing is that i dont want to delet these PERNRS iif i will be able to maintain them through PA30 as i have already created the next PERNR succesfully.

Is there any setting in SETUP PERSONNEL action which i might have forgotten.

I have my setting done as Frequency 1 & Employement-3

Change the number range as "external" (Selecting Tick mark) in PA04 and go for PA40, Give the personnel number, do the hiring ..

Once done for three, set the number range as internal again.

hi,

As you said the error the number range is internal, that means the PERNR is ccreated by the system. it will assign the next no for the new hiree. if you are tried to hire the person with the no , then the system will not allow to create it. try to execute PA40 without giving PERNR.

In that case also the system is not accepting the number to go futher

ERR_ Number range internal dont enter a personnel number & in my system setting the PA40-0000 screen doesnt have Execute Personnel action,I dont have any idea why.

I am stuck,please help.as the PERNS are undesired,they dont have any inputs also.

Just want to give you an example> PERNR 50000001> Perner created successfully,

50000002>>> Perner created with no inputs,non of the infotypes has any data,PU00 says PERNR assignment is not done.

50000003>>> Perner created with no inputs,non of the infotypes has any data,PU00 says PERNR assignment is not done.

Thanks for the update,

The number ranges once selected as internal,can it be changed to external,as the check box has been grayed out.

Can you please guide me.

Right now i dont thing i have the prevelege to do that and i dont want to create a request for the same,as the change in number range & its assignment would lead to a request creation in PE-03 NUMKR.

if i remembre it right,please correct me if i am wrong.

When you tried to hire a person using PA40 even you miss some records also PERNR will allocated to that employee.

To double check PERNR is created you can double check at PA04

I think you are giving the PERNR in the field before you hire a person since PERNR is internal number it is not allowing to create entry with that PERNR.

Try without giving PERNR.

Give more clarity about the issue.

Hi Suri,

the issue is i run the personnel action-PA40-Initial Hiring>>

Infotype0000,i gave the details but some how came out of the screen without saving any details.

now after coming out from PA40 I went to PA30 so that i can creat the personnel action through create option

i gave the personnel number and selected Action>> creat>> i had put all the details then tried to asve it>>

Error>>>Number range interval is Internal .dont give ant personnel number>now next personnel number has been created.

this is the entire problem.that personnel number 50000002 doesnt have any data in it.

when i went to pu00 it says PERNR assignment has not been done so no details, PE04- The number range has jumped to the next level.

The NUMBER RANGE has moved to the next number.

PE03 NUMKR is set as internal.

Is there any setting while creating the actio and INfogroups that i might have forgetton which i will enable me to maintain/create the

date in PA30.

Does changing of PE03-NUMKR (assignment of number range interval creates a request) i am not able to recollect.

hi

you cant create action, and organisational assignment in pa30.. you have to fill that infotypes in pa40 only.... for the actions and organisational assignment infotypes we are permitted to do changes only we cant create in pa30..

onething m not getting in your question is u said like u maintained the data but u didnt save that infotype(0000).. if u don't save the data.. system wont allort PERNR..

after saving the action infotype only it will allort the PERNR..

Hi,

You messed up when exiting PA40 without entering all information in IT0000, IT0001 and IT0002 at a minimum. You should always enter the information for new hires as well as other activities via PA40. PA30 is to individually make changes to certain infotypes for specific individuals already in the system.

Best thing to do now is Delete the PERNRs for which no data exists and start over with PA40. Go to PA30, enter the PERNR and go to Utilities --> Delete personnel number. This will delete all records for that PERNR. Then go to PA40 and do a new Hire action, this time completing the infotypes as they are presented. You will be given a new PERNR and that is the one that should be used for your employee from now on.

Admit your mistake, learn from it and move on.

Well Bindu the issue is i had filled in the required fields but had only pressed the enter button.

One last thing i am in DEV now ,can i delete the numbers in DEV,is it advisable to delete the PERNRS in DEV.

Hii,

If u want to hire with the same personnel number, u can do one thing. u said like u didn't fill the necessary fields, so do one thing.. go to PA40 select the hiring action, enter the employee number in the field.. then press execute button .. fill the respective fields properly then go for save.... u can do like this with out going for deleting personnel numbers..
