Not able to maintain postion in PA30

Hi Seniors,

I was tring to hire a person in PA40 . i selected initial hiring and executed ,the transaction went on to Action 0000 but some how i

existed 0000 without putting in any details into the system due to certain reason assuming that i could maintaing the Action in PA30,here the sytem has already created the position PERNR.

Now when i try to go through PA30>> create the system is not allowing me to go ahead, it gives me the error>>> number range is internal,then the sytem is creating the Next PERNR....like wise there are 3 unwanted PERNRS has been created who doesnt have any filed details in them.

i wanted to check the details of the employee in PU00 but it says Personnel number not assigned .

Please help me out with this.
