Bex Variable Duplication

Hi all,

I am facing a peculiar issue in my system. I see for a characteristic,say A, that i have two variables V1 and V2, which have the same technical name. This is in the case of my development system. I have only one variable though, in the P system. Now how can i check that which version of the variable is correct in the development system, because when i try to execute the report in the dev system, it throws me an error that states Name XYZ already exists.select a different name.

Any pointers wil be highly helpful.
