Online planning Locking Upload planning

Hi Guys,

I have the following scenario:

we are using IP:

User1 open online planning (IP-WAD) and start planning on profit center2

User2 try to upload data for profit center2 but receives the following error message:

Data in InfoProvider is locked by user1.

There seems to be a locking problem between online planning and upload. I have a dropdown for profit center on my WAD (Web Application Designer) for online planning.

Hi.

Surely, you have a locking conflict.

Ensure that in one filter, that involved in planning sequence execution you have restricted profit center by some variable, and in another filter, that involved in upload, profit center is also restricted.

In you upload process you, surely, therer is some action that runs over ALL profit centers.

Whhich way you perform upload process ?

Two users can't change the data for the same profit center simultaneously.

In your case when User1 open online planning (IP-WAD) and start planning on profit center2, system creates lock for that profit center so when User2 try to upload data for profit center2 he receives the locking message. System does it to avoid inconsistencies in data.

User1 plan on profit center1 (BI-WAD)

User2 plan on profit center2 (Upload)

Then include profit center in filter. System will not lock all the profit centers.

Hi,

I have profit centers in the filters for both BI-WAD and Upload.

Run both WAD and flat file load together and go to RSPLSE and check the 'Lock Conflicts' tab and enter your real time cube name. System will show which selections are locking each other and based on that you can modify your filter.
