Time frame for a purchase requisition to get converted into a planned order

I am Chetan Puraswani and a beginner in SAP PP.

After MRP run, a puchase requistion gets generated for Raw Material (procurement type F). But after a particular period of time the Pur. Rq. gets converted into a planned order.

Could any one please tell how does the system calculate the time after which a Pur. Rq. gets converted into a planned order?n

Whatit is the time upto which the Pur. Rq. remain unconverted into a planned order?
