How to upgrade JCo in the WebAS ?

Hi,

How do we upgrade the JCo connector running within WebAS ?

I have downloaded the JCo from SAP support portal, it is version 2.1.3. The major files are sapjco.jar, sapjcorfc.dll and librfc32.dll

However, within the J2EE server, I can find the file jrfc.jar (\usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\cluster\server0\bin\ext\com.sap.mw.jco). I am unable to find sapjco.jar or sapjcorfc.dll in the J2EE installation.

Interestingly, many of the classfiles within jrfc.jar are identical to those contained in sapjco.jar

I am running J2EE SP7 on Windows with an ABAP stack.

Can someone please tell me how to upgrade the JCo libraries ? Thanks,

Manish

    Hi Manish,

I don't think there is anything to upgrade. The version of JCo that is built into the WAS is different than the stand alone version of JCo but it does contain the latest functionality. Can you explain what is not available in the included version of JCo that you need?

    Thanks,

      to anser your question:

the libraries (.dll-files) reside in the %winnt%/system32 directory, but as greg already pointed out: there should be no need to upgrade them manually.
