Upgrading BW

Hi, we are planning an upgrade from Netweaver 7.0 to EHP1, we currently have:

SAP_ABA 700 0018 SAPKA70018 Cross-Application Component

SAP_BASIS 700 0019 SAPKB70019 SAP Basis Component

PI_BASIS 2005_1_700 0018 SAPKIPYJ7I PI_BASIS 2005_1_700

SAP_BW 700 0020 SAPKW70020 SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0

BI_CONT 703 0016 SAPKIBIIQ6 Business Intelligence Content

With a source system (ECC 6.0)

SAP_ABA 700 0018 SAPKA70018 Componente multiaplicaciones

SAP_BASIS 700 0018 SAPKB70018 SAP Basis

PI_BASIS 2005_1_700 0018 SAPKIPYJ7I PI_BASIS 2005_1_700

my question is, basically if we upgrade the components in BW (sap_aba, sap_basis, etc.) do we have to upgrade the components that source system and BW have in common in the source system side too?

Hi

No, you can update the BW server, netweaver components and BI_CONT, and your source system don't have issue. However the recommendation is update all server to lastest SP level.
