Unable to change standard price

Here is my scenario:

Our cost accountant had run cost for material A for next period, let's say period 06 via ck40n to input future cost estimate as 673.7usd, and standard price of this material of current period is 1 usd, and it shows grey which does not allowed to change, but we now tried to change it as 673.7, and I had tried to go to transaction mr21 and update the price, the result is that it will change moving price instead of standard price, and valuation class had been changed before as well, please advise why standard price shows grey and does not allow to change, why mr21 only update moving average price? Help.

hi..

Is your mat is a split valuated mat ? if so system will post mov av price.

You can also try the following process to change stnd price:

1) Do a new costing don't do marking & release

2) Go to transaction MR21fill the posting date, company code and plant and then type "LTPC" on the command field just like a t.code & enter

3) On the next screen type your material number, select the line and type Shift+F9;

4) Then save. Standard cost you created will post.

Hi Allen

When you go to MR21 - The Current Std Price field will be gray.... The New Price field will be open..... You need to enter the Price here and the same will be adopted in the material master

there will also be a 3rd field called "Statistical Price", which means the Mvng avg price in your case

However, My question is why you want to change from Mr21.. When you have marked the cost estimate as Future price, then release it from CK40N

Hi,

Check whether in Material master in costing view there is tick for With Quantity structure field which shows the price will change when standard cost estimate is runned. deselect the tick and run mr21.

Thanks for quick reply, but price control had been set as "S".

hi..

I think the Price control of your mat is "V" and not "S" so when you change your price in MR21 it takes mov av price.

pl check.
