CR 2008 dpi issue for windows application

Former Member

ASP.NET windows application (developed with VS.NET 2010 )

Reports generate and display through crystal report viewer . (VS 08 Crystal Report 2008 SP2 with Fix Pack 2.6) and i barely read the number. When I zoom in to 300%, that section of the report looks great. I did not have this problem with a previous version of CR. I tried CR2010 and have the same issue.

Looks like the previous version of CR appears to adjust the frame of the item to a smaller resolution. The picture looked nicer.

Is there is a way that the display resolution can be changed for the latest CR2008 or CR2010 version for WINDOWS application???

Please advise. Thanks!

Hello Oksana

What DPI are you set at?

See [this|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/15777] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]; blog - it may help.

Try the sample app vbnet_web_simplepreviewreport.zip from here:

https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/CrystalReportsfor.NETSDK+Samples

and see if you can reproduce teh issue.

A link to a screenshot may also be helpful.

I uploaded 2 images to https://picasaweb.google.com/oksana732/MyPictures#5579880685663701650 .The charts are Blob objects i load during a runtime. the first image i took from a client machine where CRRuntime_12_0_mlb is installed.

The second one i took from a client machine where CRRuntime_12_3_mlb is installed (the same issue i have with CR2008 SP3 full version and CR2010). Both have 96 DPI. The 2nd picture looks nicer, but the numbers appear more blurry than they would if printed.

I looked at the blog and it seems works only for the web application. RenderingDPI' is not a member of 'CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer'. Is there any way to adjust DPI for the windows application?

thanks.

Looks to me like in one of the images you are using the ActiveX viewer (RDC) and in the other the .NET viewer?

Yes,sorry, the other one is .net viewer but the same image issue i have on a client machine where CRRuntime_12_3_mlb installed.

I am not sure about SP1 and SP2 but looks like CRRuntime_12_0_mlb appears to adjust the numbers.

Is there a resolution adjustment diffrent between these 2 packages?

Not that I am aware of. You have an example of the different SP differences?

I just described above my example. CR Viewer display diffrently my reports for CRRuntime_12_0_mlb and CRRuntime_12_3_mlb (or CR 2008 SP3 ) installation. And i do not understand why.
