Deselect a chart drill using Reset Button

Hello,

I have a dashboard that contains 3 Pie Charts. These pie charts are used as selectors with the drill down option. On the drill tab the default selection is set to "No Selection (-1)". After selecting an item I can deselect it by using a Reset Button, however the Reset Button resets all of my charts. Is there a way to reset a single chart?

I am using Xcelsius 5.3.4.0

Thanks,

Ran

Hi,

Thank you for the answer. I originally did the same thing only with "Row" as insertion type. I tried with "Status List" as well but I got the same problem.

I am using the xcelsius SWF output file as a dashboard in SAP Business One with the integration component. The dashboard is sending SQL Query requests to SB1 and receives the query result to the spreadsheet. Every time a query is run the chart object goes through some sort of refresh, this causes the drill down to re-insert the last selection to the destination cell.

You can notice that when you select a piece of the pie chart, it becomes darker and the only thing that can really cancel the selection is the reset button (as much as i know).

If there is a way to do it, I would like to cancel the selection itself.

Thanks,

Ran

Hi,

See even if the previously selected area in pie chart remains darker, but the push button will make sure that it clears the drill down area, so whenever you select the same area again ,it will give you the desired drill down.

Where as Reset button will reset all the components inside Dashboards. Thats why I suggested you to use push button for each Pie chart.

Revert if you need further clarification.

Hi,

Yes, the push button overrides the drill selection and inserts the desired value in the cell, and as I said, that is what I did at first. The problem begins with the use of queries through SB1 (XML data connection), if I clear the selection by using the push button and then change the data for the pie chart, the previous selection is inserted to the drill down area without touching the pie chart.

Lets say I have 3 values on the pie chart (1,2,3), I select the first one so the drill down cell contains "1" and then I press the push button. the drill down cell now contains NULL. Now I'm changing the XML data so there are new values (4,5,6), the drill down cell still contains NULL. When I change the XML data back (1,2,3) the drill down cell is updated with "1" (this was the last selection) without me touching the pie chart.

The problem occurs with simple XML connection as well. If you will set the XML file connection to refresh every 5 seconds, you will notice that the last selection is re-inserted to the drill down cell without touching the pie chart.
