Maintainance Certificate is applied as a License via SLICENSE

Hi,

If you are talking about Maintanance certificate that comes with standard SAP LICENSE for system, then download from marketplace for abap+java system and apply through SLICENSE tcode. First delete the one already present. Go to tab New License and delete and then apply the new one using install option and provide the text file you downloaded from marketplace.

I guess you are not being accurate, in your requirements, as people are telling different things related to marketplace and portal certificate etc..

Dear RJ,

Kindly check the following SAP Notes regarding Maintenance certificates:

1275483 - Maintenance certificate required as of January 2009

1280664 - Distribution of maintenance certificates: Troubleshooting

1236587 - JSPM - no valid maintenance certificate found

These would help you out for better understanding.

Hi,

Its quite confusing. Are you talking about SAP Maintance certificate or the certifcates for SSO?

If it is for SSO in tcode STRUSTSSO2 then you can delete the old one and generate a new one in abap stack. For Java stack you can generate one using the visual admin> serverservices->key storage.

Hi,

Under key storage I can see the certificate which is getting expired. Please guide me on how to remove it and apply a new one.

From market place I have downloaded a new certificate one (It is a txt file).

Thanks,

Hi,

You will find two certificates one is saplogonticketkeypair and saplogonticketkeypair-cert i think this might be getting expired.

Just delete them and recreate them. Then restart your java stack.

Hey thanks Vamshi

Just let me know, do I have to download anything from SAP Marketplace before I delete SAPLogonTicketKeypair and SAPLogonTicketKeypair-cert from Visual Admin?

Thanks,

RJ

Hello RJ,

As I see above there is some confusion regarding whether the issue is regarding a mainenance certificate or an SSO certificate.

It is clearly an SSO certificate expiring.

Al your work should be done in :

- Visual Admin of the Java instance who emited the expiring certificate (generate the certificate)

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/Helpdata/EN/e2/f71940d4558f5ce10000000a155106/frameset.htm

- STRUSTSSO2(import the certificate)

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/Helpdata/EN/e2/f71940d4558f5ce10000000a155106/frameset.htm

You should follow the links given above.

You will find here references to "Portal", in your case this might be the Java side of your system or indeed a separate Java system. The "BW" in your case is simply the ABAP stack of your system.

I hope this clarifies your issue.

You should renew this certificate as soon as possible as it might cause issues (no more SSO)

No, You need not to download any thing from marketplace. Just delete them and recreate. Make sure to import the newly created certificate is imported in your abap stack if your are looking for SSO.

Hi,

Just check if there is any certificate for that system already existing? If there is one then delete it and add the new one again.

Fist add it to certificate list and then to ACL.

Vamshi.

There must be some certificate installed on your system for SSO or any other functionality. You have to check the Date on STRUST. It will be expire on two days so system is giving you this warning. You have to renew the certificate if you want.

Hi

Renew certificate via marketplace, and install from tcode slicense, the certificate is valid for dual stack. ABAP + JAVA.
