Anyone who has just started the thought of giving certification this is the first question that comes to our mind.Please find below the information given by SAP itself when I wrote them a mail with the same question.

SAP offers multi-tiered certification paths for specific subjects. We offer an Associate level certification geared towards those with 1-3+ years of experience, a Professional level certification geared towards those with 4-7+ years of experience and we are currently in the process of developing a Master Certification for those with an expert-level understanding of a specific area of SAP software
We currently offer the following Certifications relative to Supply Chain Management – Order Fulfillment:
SAP Certified Application Associate - Order Fulfillment with SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4 (C_TSCM62_64);
SAP Certified Application Professional – Order Fulfillment with SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4 (P_SD_64);
SAP Certified Application Associate – Order Fulfillment with SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5 (C_TSCM62_65); and
SAP Certified Application Professional – Order Fulfillment with SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5 (P_SD_65)

SAP Consultant Certification is generally geared towards SAP Customers, Partners, Consultants and project team members involved in current implementation or planning for future implementation of R/3.
To prepare for certification you have three options:
The first option is to take Order Fulfillment Academy training. The Solution Academy program is a fast track program which combines and abbreviates training courses from the standard project team curricula in an average of 20 - 24 days with the certification exam on the last day of the last class. As this training is very accelerated, this option is typically more appropriate for someone who has prior SAP knowledge/experience. We now offer our new e-Academy training in several certification training areas, including a Order Fulfillment eAcademy. Please note that the certification exam is not included with the eAcademy.
The second option is to take the standard project team training classes for the specific solution in which you wish to be certified. This typically includes more than 25 days of training, spread out over a longer period of time. However, this is more appropriate for someone new to SAP, as the training is not as accelerated. You spend more time on each of the specific topic areas. After completing your training, and when you feel confident of your understanding of the material, you would then schedule your certification exam.
The last option is to register directly for the exam if you already have extensive background and training in the particular SAP solution in which you want to certify. However, please note that we do not provide self study materials nor do we sell our course training materials to help prepare you for an exam.
If you are unable to take an exam at an SAP training facility you have the option to also take an exam at Pearson VUE Exam centers. You can review the Pearson VUE website to locate the closest exam location to you. Please be advised that all SAP exams are not available at Pearson VUE exam center at this time.
