Basic Pay Infotype

Hi Ppl,

When I enter a value in the Basic Pay Infotype for the amount it is entered there as Annual Salary, but when I run the payroll for that period the system shows the amount as monthly amount. So what I need to know is that how does the system identify that the amount that is maintained in the Infotype 0008 is an Annual Salary?
