Company Code to Company code Data Transfer

Dear All,

Can any one let us know the process for transferring all the datas from one company code to another company code.

Our client has acquired another company (which also uses SAP as its software with same SAP version).

Now we want to transfer all the data from the newly acquired company code to our company code including all modules(FICO, MM,SD,PP,QM,etc).

Do suggest the process and steps to followed ( if possible the data transfer sequence along with do's & donts).

Hi dear,

As far as PP and MM is conserened you have to transfer/create following master data from one comapny code to another.

MM-Define ->Organisation structures - Company,Plants,Storage location,Purchasing Organisation,Purchasing groups,Pricing procedures,etc

MM- Extend-> Material master to another company code.

PP->Create BOM,Routings,Work centers

Hi dear,

To extend material master you can make use of LSMW.

For PP master data - BOM,Routing,Worlcenters etc you can create mass program BDC with the help of ABAPer.

For the historic data stock - You can use initial uplod by MB1C- 561

open PO - They are to be created manually

Open production orders, & WIP - etc you have to see if you can make use of mass program or create manually.

Thanks for the suggestion.

We are looking for entire process fro data migration and your suggestions are is specific to MM & PP module.

What about FI, SD (open Ar,AP Partial delivery,Partial GR,GI...etc).....

Hi,

The answer can be derived after analysing the following:

1. Do you want to migrate to one SAP insatance? if yes.

a. Analyse the similarities in the business process

b. Find out the customisation (UE, SAP Scripts, VOFM routnes, etc) done in both the systems and the level of applicabilty in the merged SAP version

c. Analyse the Interface and Workflow requirements of the merged entity

d. You need to configure the new company code and other config in the SAP instance you want to retain.

e. You can use LSMW to migrate the masters.

f. List all the transaction data you wish to move to the existing SAP system and check the number range compatibity.

g. Explore the archiving solution to retain the existing data of the acquired entity.

2. If you are looking for a single SAP isntance, then you can establish ALE setting so that these 2 entities can talk to each other.

We are plan to transfer all the data from the new bought by us(e.g. company code: 1000) to our company (e.g. Comapny Code: 0100).

Do suggest ,how can we transfer all the Master Data, Transaction Data,Historical Data,etc to our SAP system from new company sap system.
