Crystal Report (visual studio 2005)-Hyperlink not working on exported PDF

Former Member

I have created a crystal report by using VS 2005, there are some hyperlinks inside the report.

After i exported the report to PDF, I check the PDF file, none of the link contains inside the PDF file.

It seems a bug, i google this issue, some people can export to RTF first and then in RTF save as PDF, then the link should be there. I tried it, it works, but it totally mess up my report layout.

Please advise,

Tommy

Typing the terms "pdf export hyperlink crystal" in the search box at the top right corner of this page comes up with the following KB (5th hit):

[Hyperlinks to files do not work when exported to Portable Document Format (PDF)|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_bi/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d36393736354636443646363436353344333933393338323636393736354637333631373036453646373436353733354636453735364436323635373233443330333033303331333233313336333633363337%7D.do].

"Messed" up report export to RTF does not tell me much either. A link to a screenshot will be great.

Also, what CR Service Pack are you on?

Hi, thanks for your reply.

"Messed" up means -

my crystal report layout properly, like paragraph space, etc, Once i export to PDF, it looks exactly like the way i want.

However when i export RTF, the paragraph space is different and some string got truncated.

Therefore, if i export to RTF first, then save as PDF ... the whole layout got messed up.

what CR Service Pack are you on?

i am not quite sure. But i used the once come with Visual Studio 2005. do you know what version it is?

someone told me it is 10 R2.

But anyway, so what will be the solution? i developed the report in VS 2005, and is done!

But the client said the report missing the link, so i need to add it to finalize this project.

Please advise,

Tommy

For export to RTF, make sure you are on SP1:

https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006007872008E/crvs05sp1.exe

Use the above on your dev computer. You will not be able to use it on the client side. To deploy the SP 1 runtime to the client, use the SP 1 MSI:

https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100010010692008E/crredist2005_sp1_x86.zip

See if that resolves the export to RTF issue.

PDF export - no options... not even the latest CR release.

"PDF export - no options... not even the latest CR release."

What is this mean? it means PDF export won't contain links?

I am using crystal 10.5.2700.

I can confirm the hyperlinks work fine in my PDF report.
