Workflow Email notification


Not sure if this is the right forum but thought I would start here.

We have a job that automatically sweeps through each users inbox to see if there are any new items (since the last run date) and then sends a generic notification to their Outlook inbox saying that they have a new SAP task.

In the last two - three weeks, something has happened that causes this job to send this generic task to every user in our system....with the message that they have something in their SAP inbox, but they have no new tasks....some users have no tasks at all.

We are thinking that the last run date is being re-initialized but are not sure. This has happened several times in the past few weeks. When we review SCOT, we see that the job even sends emails to users who are terminated.

Can anyone suggest a possible cause?
