Problem Creating Model/Connecting to DB at Designtime over RFC

Hi!

I have a problem when I want to create a model. I want to get the relevant information over "Import Adaptive RFC". I always have the problem, that I can't connect to the server.

I set up the SDL and a message server. In the web dynpro content administrator I can start the SLD and I can create a JCo.

Do I have to set up anything else?

I searched the whole snd Forum, but i found nothing that helped me.

Thanks for any solutions

Regards

Andreas

    Thanks for your answer.

I still cant't import informations for the model over RFC. I read in the snd forum a lot about this problem, but I found no solution. So I want to explain what I installed on my system and what settings I made.

    1. I installed the WAS Sneak Preview Version with the standart Parameters (SAP System ID: J2E, Database Name: J2E, J2EE Instance Number: 00, SCS Instance Number: 01)

    2. I installed the Mini SAP System (MBS System).

    3. I set up the SLD with the visual Administrator

In Cluster->Server->Services->SLD Data Suplier i added at the "cim client generator" settings host:localhost and port:50000

    4. The I set up the information for the WAS in the SLD over http://localhost:50000/webdynpro/welcome

    Server Parameters:

    Object Server: localhost

    Persistence: Database

    Abap Connection Parameters:

    Client:000

    System Number: 00

    User: SAPJ2EDB

    Hostname: localhost

    Language: en

    5. I set up the SLD Data Suplier with the information

    gateway: server: localhost, Service sapgw00

    6. I set up two BC Message server with the SLD

6.1. on for the C11 System

    Name: C11.localhost.sapmsC11

    hostname: localhost

    logon Groups: PUBLIC

    Message Port: 3700

6.2 one for the MBS System

    Name: MBS.localhost.sapmsMSB

    hostname: localhost

    logon Groups: PUBLIC

    Message Port: 4199

    7. I set up the services file in the folder <systemdrive>\<windowsfolder>\system32\drivers\etc with following entries

    sapmsMBS 4199/tcp

    sapmsC11 3600/tcp

    8. Restart of the WAS with all instances

    9. I created a JCo Connection

    9.1 General Date

Name: test, Maximum Pool Size: 3, Client:000

    9.2 J2EE Cluster

I used the Local J2EE Engine

    9.3. Destination Type

Dictionary Meta Data with a load balanced connection

    9.4. Msg Server

Message Server: Message Server for C11

    System Name: C11

    9.5. Security

    Methode: User/Password

    Name: Administrator

Are these all the settings I have to set up? Or are there some missing? Or wher is my mistake?

I can create a JCO connection. But if i want to test it, i always get an error message (RFC Error Communication: Connect to message server failed...)

    Regards

    Andreas

      Yeah right

      Abap Connection Parameters:

      Client:000

      System Number: 00

      User: SAPJ2EDB

      Hostname: localhost

      Language: en

Are you sure you want to connect to Client 000 of SAP because usually that is left alone 😉

      Regards

      Pran

      Hey Andreas,

To create an Adaptive RFC based model, one should always use "Load balanced server". Try using this option and specify the message server details and your logon information when you create the model.

Also before you do this, enter the required R/3 system info(like sapms<R3 Sys Name> 36<R3 Sys Num>/tcp) into the services file on the system where WAS is running and restart WAS.

You can find the services file under the folder:

      C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc.

For more information, refer to the different postings on this topic on SDN.

    Hi Andreas,

it would be helpful, if you post something here, that specifies the error you get more clearly 😉

    Best regards

    Stefan
