Using SFTP instead of FTP in Communication Channel

Dear Experts,

Pelase help us resolve this issue. Our company doesn't allow to use 21 port for doing file transfer from PI 7.1 server to another server using File adapter in Communication channel through FTP process. Both server are in same LAN zone but instead of FTP(21 port), only SFTP (Port: 22) is allowed as per Company's Policy.

So in our current scenario files are to be transftered through SFTP port 22. Please suggest if there is any alternate way to use SFTP (Port: 22) in PI7.1

Thanks in advance,

Sabita

Hi Sabita,

If you wish to use Port 22 only, then you can use FTPS option instead of SFTP.

FTPS is readily available with the standard FTP adapter, Please refer the below blog:

But to implement this the Third part should be capable of handling Explicit FTP (FTPS) protocol.

Please refer the below thread, this may help you:

Hi Sabita,

I think instead of going with SFTP which is third party, you can better go ahead with FTPS.
