SRM SUS Manual Creation of Vendor

SRM-SUS 7.0 with non-SAP as backend

Since we have a non-SAP system as backend for our coming SRM-SUS we want to be able to create/maintain vendors manually in SRM, so some input is needed. Can we just create the vendor as a BP (and which types do we need); then assign the vendor into the vendor org root?

ANy input on how we manually create the vendors in SRM so that everything works?

Hi,

You can create vendors manually in SRM in the link 'Create Business Partner'.

While creating the vendor, you can click the check box 'Portal Vendor'. On doing so, the vendor will get replicated to SUS through PI/XI.

Thanks and regards,

Sounds interesting? Where is this link "Create business partner" - in the SRM-SUS portal? And you say that it's then sent from the PI to SUS, but the portal itself is SRM-SUS so is it being sent from SRM-SUS via PI/XI back to SRM-SUS? What about the VENMAP table for example?

Hi,

Please login to the SRM Portal with 'Strategic Purchaser' role. Navigate to the following path and create a vendor as a BP in SRM.

Strategic Purchasing -- Business Partner -- Create Supplier. Here you can create a vendor and this vendor will be a BP in SRM. This vendor can be used for bidding and in shopping carts. However if you wish to work with the same vendor in SUS too(for order acknowledgment), then you need to flag him as a 'Portal Supplier' too. This will replicate the same vendor in SUS too via XI.

This sounds just like what I need.

However, my portal doesn't have the links you mention, and I think it sounds like you are using the enterprise portal or something. Mine is strictly the SRM SUS portal (not using EBP; not using enterprise portal), and I can find a role called SAP_BW_BBP_STRATEGIC_PROCUREM (strategic procurement) but no extra functions appear on the portal. Using the /SAPSRM/SUS_ADMIN_PURCHASER role I am able to choose Find Supplier > Choose the supplier > but then I still cannot create any business partner, nor flag anything as Portal Vendor. 😐

Hi,

You have mentioned that you wanted to create a supplier in SRM, hence I suggested the solution. Are you not using SRM? When you say that you are using the SUS portal, then that just refers to the BSP page 'SRMSUS'.

Thus all you need to do is login as an admin user in SUS portal, select the vendor company for which you wish to create the vendor and then create the vendor for that company with appropriate roles. I dont have access to systems currently and hence cannot tell you the exact roles. But the admin user must have the following 2 roles (SAP_EC_SUS_ADMIN_VENDOR and /SAPSRM/ADMINSUPPLIER.. not very sure about the exact names but something similar to these 2 roles)

Regards,

Nikhil
