SDSPESTA report

Hi,

When I try to execute report V23, the system is prompting me to run SDSPESTA first. We have recently upgraded to ECC6.

Can anyone describe what exactly SDSPESTA is and why it would be executed? Should it be ran only once? Is there a way to remove this prompt in V23?

Hi,

It's a one-time activity. The SDSPESTA program is refreshing the overall status fields in VBUK/VBUP based on the transactional data. I suggest you to start it with 'Processing in background' in the productive system in a non-production timeframe.

After job completion the message should disappear.

Thanks Barna.

would you know what exactly is done to the overall status of the VBUK/VBUP tables? What checks/changes are performed during the reorg?

Reproducing SAP's explanation

+Diagnosis+ New fields have been added to the SD status tables that contain a blocking status (delivery, blocking or user status). The new reports SDLIEFSPE and SDFAKSPE evaluate the new blocking status fields. To update thesse fields for documents (sales orders) already available in the system, you should run selection program SDSPESTA before running the SDLIEFSPE and SDFAKSPE reports for the first time. You do not have to this if you have just installed the SAP system. Procedure +Run selection report SDSPESTA

thanks
