Could not open stream Backup error occured, Error code 3700 "hostfile_error

Hi MaxDB xperts,

We are trying to install ECC6.0 EHP5 system by system copy method.We had the required dump(MaxDB backup) placed on one of the server and we have mapped the drive which has the dump file to the server on which the SAP installation is being carried out. Bur during the excecute phase i.e at "Create Database Instance", sapinst throwed the below error :

"An error occurred while processing option Enhancement Package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 > Software Life-Cycle Options > System Copy > MaxDB > Target System Installation > Central System > Based on AS ABAP > Central System( Last error reported by the step :Error during execution of command identifier 'ACTIVATE_RECOVER' : O error 6,Data recovery failed Servertask Info: because Error in backup task occured Job 1 (Backup / Restore Medium Task) [executing] WaitingT89 Result=3700 Error in backup task occured, Error code 3700 "hostfile_error" Backupmedium #1 (Z://R5J_FULL) Could not open stream Backup error occured, Error code 3700 "hostfile_error">)."

R5J_FULL - is the MaxDB online backup file which we are using for system copy.

We are very new to MaxDB, so kindly suggest some work around for this.

Hello Sri,

-> What is the version of the source database?

-> What is the version of the target database?

-> Please connect to the target database as DBM user, control by default SAP installation, run the dbm command "medium_getall" and update with output.

-> What is the location of the file R5J_FULL on the target server?

What users/groups are able to access this file on the target database server?
