Hi All,

I have created two queries from an ODS object. The output of the queries is perfectly OK. No issues there. There are two things that I want to do..

1.I want to limit GL account by its attribute. What I mean is I want to select GL accounts only where a flag (P&L accounts only) is set. The twist here is that I do not want to have the GL account on the query output. I have already added the GL account to the query (for testing) and the query output is not what I require….

2.I select all documents posted in the fiscal year range 2000 to 2004. Of this, the current year (2004) has to be reported separately. Documents for 2000 to 2003 should get into another column. So far, I have achieved this. I have created three variables on posting date. One for the entire range, One for the previous fiscal years and another for the current fiscal year. By filling in these dates, the query output is correct (in terms of the split in columns). Question – Is there a better way to achieve this??

Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Avinash,

for your first question I would recommend to activate the P&L flag as a navigational attribute at the GL account as well as at the ODS object. Then you can limit your query output by using a variable on this attribute or using it as a filter with a fixed value in the query.

Now to your second question. Use a second structure in your columns and add selections by the fiscal year to it. In these selections you can use variable offsets for the fiscal year. This means: create 5 selections for the fiscal year. Set the first one to the current fiscal year - 4, the second to fiscal year - 3 and so on. This should work also.
