Access is denied when creating Loftware file

Hi,

We have a strange error that we have come across the last days.

We are doing a shop-order release which will print SFC labels with Loftware.

This has worked fine for a few weeks, but now we get the following error:

"Cannot create file:
SEVA106\D$\LABELS\VIABDU-TEST_RFC_LOFTWARE-0-20110214-59148158.pas (Access is denied)

(Message 15952).

What Windows user is trying to create the file?

What can cause this to suddenly stop working?

Br,

Johan

Hi,

1. The windows user is the same that is running SAP Services - usually LOCAL SERVICE, but you can change it in the windows services

2. There may be a number of reasons why it stopped working:

- out of space on the drive

- folder permissions have been changed

- folder quote has been reached

- folder has been removed/renamed

- network connection issues

Hope this helps

Let us know what the problem was

Thanks

Hi Ivan,

Thanks for the answer. Just on follow-up question to make me understand better.

When you say "The windows user is the same that is running SAP Services - usually LOCAL SERVICE",

do you mean for the service named SAPHostExec? I also have another service named SAPHostControl plus

two services for each netweaver instance.

SAPHostExec is running under LOCAL SYSTEM account which has full control in permissions to the folder for the Loftware files.

Hi Johan, I meant the services for NetWeaver instances. SAPHostExec and SAPHostControl are not responsible for SAP instances see [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/44/8765e3dd0e12d0e10000000a422035/content.htm]

Hi,

We have found the reason and solution to this problem.

Somehow a local policy has sneeked in and set the SAP Netweaver service accounts in

a policy "Deny log on throught Terminal Services".

By removing the accounts from the policy we now can create Loftware files from SAP ME again.

Exactly why the local policy have been set for the accounts we don't know at this moment. Have to monitor

this and see if it happens again.

Sometimes the issues with access appear after security-related and network-related updates for Windows.
