Handling Units WM

Dear Gurus,

I want to map this simple scenario, wherein we are using RF and Handheld devices...

Soon after the material is picked from the BIN, it is placed in a plastic box called (TOTE) which is placed on a conveyor belt and will move to shipping/staging area. This TOTE is identified by a unique BARCODE.

Someone suggested me to use Handling Units to map this, for which SU should be active for the Storage Type. (I have activated SUM for a storage type)

Iam not getting the correct procedure to create, assign, manage HUs...I have read that HUs can be Boxes, Crates, Wire carts etc.

Can anyone please give me step-by-step methods/transactions to use handling units in WM? and also required IMG settings?
