Dear all,
is it possible to eliminate multiple occurrences of a particular search result entry when searching with TREX? The problem we are currently facing is as follows:
We are having four folders in SAP KM in which we store language-specific content. Each folder should only contain documents in one particular language, i.e. one folder for English content, one for French content, one for German content and one for Spanish content. However, we are sometimes having content which solely exists in one language and as it is not translated. In this case, the document is present in all four folders, meaning that an English document could reside in a French, German or Spanish folder. In case a user searches for a document which is not translated, the latter is displayed four times in the search result list. This is due to the fact that there is one general index over all language-specific folders containing four times the occurrence of the respective document. Is there a chance we can filter this out by using for example the title of the document as filter criteria, i.e. define a rule saying if a title occurs multiple times, display the respective entry only once? What else could be done in order to change the display of search results so that multiple occurrences of documents are eliminated?
One idea we developed would be the following:
1. Create four separate indexes, i.e. one for each language
2. Provide means for selecting the search language and connect this selection to the respective language-specific index. In case a user chooses to search for English documents, the following is intended to happen:
a) only the index over the English content folder is searched
b) the search language is set to English
This is supposed to deliver only the relevant entries of the specified language where every entry is only contained one time in the search result list
Has anyone made any experiences with this kind of problem?
Thank you for your help and best regards,
