applying SP6 or SP7 to J2EE 6.30 corrupts the installation

Hi all,

I have a J2EE 6.30 central system installation. I have installed permanent license key and everything was fine. It was ok after I applied SP4 and SP5 (SAP said SP4 would bring J2EE 630 to 640). But something wrong happened when I applied SP6, the step before 'Deploy Online' was 'start J2EE engine', the problem was that the engine failed to start. I checked the developer trace and found out the last line in the log was 'CreateProcess .... jlaunch.exe'

when I tried to manually restared the instance, the color became yellow for a few second and turned back to grey(dead) again.

Also another strange thing is that the 'Licensing Adapter' in the J2EE Admin console failed to load after I applied the SP4.

Is it not supposed to upgrade from 630 to 640? I am NOT talking about sneak preview edition.

Thanks for any help

    Hi Tom,

Did you try installing SP07 directly from SP04? The patches are cumulative. Are u using JDK1.4.2_05?

    Kind Regards,
