WAS 6.4 Preview Edition without Mini SAP?

Hi!

Is it possible to use the Preview Edition of the WAS as a stand alone version. Or do i need a mini SAP System to store data?

Thankx

    Hi!

    Thanks for your answer!

The Database, which is included in the WAS would be good for me. I have created a Persistence Project and deployed it. But now I don't know how to move on. I want to create a model in an web dynpro project and I find no way to connect to the Database.

I found no Tutorial which descripes how to connect to the Database of the WAS.

    Thanks for any answer.

    Hi Andreas,

this depends on what you want to do. If you want to develop in the J2EE/Java environment, you don't need miniSAP. If you want to evaluate ABAP backend access via JCo/SAPJRA and have no remote ABAP system available, you'll need miniSAP.

The preview WAS is the standalone Java stack part of the WAS and doesn't contain the ABAP stack, but it comes with it's own database to store data via JDO, CMP, OpenSQL, whatever you like most.

    Regards

    Stefan
