How to ship a PAR file in EPA

Former Member

hi,

This is regarding EP 6.0 / Netweaver-04

One of groups ships a business package EPA file. They have a PAR file too. What should be the structure of the EPA file if it has to contain PAR file ? Is there any documentation available?

I tried to manually add PAR file to a EPA file using Winzip, but when I imported the epa file, par file didnt appear at all.

In EP 5.0, business packages could contain par files. What about Ep 6.0 /Netweaver release?

TIA

Kiran

I was looking for the answer to this question recently. I'm sure the original poster has fixed the problem, but in case others are looking for the same answer...

To export PAR files you need to do two things;

1) ensure the PCD property Pcd.TransportApplication.Export.ExcludeSystemObjects is set to false in \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\pcd\pcdStartup.properties and reload them from "System Administration" -> "Support" and at "Support Desk" select "Portal Content Directory" then "PCD Configuration" a "reload" button allows you to re-read the config file.

2) Ensure the checkbox for export dependent objects is set in the export and add the wildcard or path for your par files when maintaining the transport object, then when you click export the par files will appear with a hazard triangle, when you export the par files will be exported.

Hope this helps.

You might want to play around with the Export iView of the EP? The .epa file format is, as I understand it, ment as a black box. No manual modifications.

There should be a tool similar to the application assembly tool.
