I am trying to Localize the Crystal Report Viewer Control to one of the Languages. And I am not able to get resource file for English so I would be able to give it to the translators.
The link below is what I have been trying to do.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms227633%28v=vs.80%29.aspx
I was able to get resources for other languages es, it, jp, fr etc. But not English.
I have Looked into all the sample codes that come with VS 2005 , VS 2008, Crystal Report XI. But I am not able to get it.
Can you please give me a Link where I can download this resource files.
I am looking for the
CRWebFormViewer.txt
SCRShared.txt
Viewer.txt
Files.
Thanks

There are no EN resource files so you will have to work with one of the other languages as a base.
One word of caution. I am not sure that the resource file for the viewer has changed since version 10.2. I do know the viewer has had some significant changes. E.g.; the viewer resource file may work, may not... (the KB specifies Environment as
Visual Studio Crystal Reports 2008, but I'm not so sure there is any difference between CR 10.2, 10.5, 11 and 11.5 resource files)

you can easily find all of the strings using a tool like Red-Gates .NET reflector. simply load the resource dll of the language you want into the tool and copy all of the strings out of the tool into a text file. It will look the same as the resource text files you currently have except for the comments. This way you can ensure you have all of the strings used in the version you are localizing. There's only about 10 new strings added from CR for VS2005 to CR2008. mostly because of the addition of the parameter panel.

Hi Ludek
If you look at the link http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms227600(v=VS.80).aspx
and its version.. it did said Visual Studio 2005 and the first line said
"Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2005 is designed to work with several default language resource files, and also any custom language resource files created and compiled by the developer. "
Sorry if I had missed your 2008 post since I only see the info looking for the same file again in the link you provided back in 2/18/2011

Hi Ludek
File name I had been looking for is CrystalReportViewer_resource_files
end Product of it is .NET with Crystal Report will display different languages based on what the users had select/located. It will be the the common one Crystal had provided, such as EN,JP, CHS and FR, DE..etc.
Thanks

I believe the references you provided;
CrystalReportViewer_resource_files
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms227600(v=VS.80).aspx
only apply to Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 (CR 10.5).
CR 2008 is a "multilingual" build and thus the above should not be needed. Have you had a chance to look at the CR 2008 developer file I suggested in my post from Feb 18?

hi , Thank you for replying
I understandthat the the files was mentioned in the Microsoft page but it was suppose to be provided by BO. If I follow Ludek direction on the link above, I still need the file which are not in my PC.. Did I miss some steps in my Crystal installation ?
It was also mentioned in the link
Thanks

I was following the instruction to Configuring Multilingual Client Support trying to see how Crystal can use with global language selection.
And the sample in the Tutorials' Sample Code Directory did have a sample with webconfig pointing to the missing file ?

Hello,
When you install Crystal Reports 11.5 select all languages or just the ones you want and then you will see all of CR's language reference files. Example: crdb_cdo_res_en.dll if English.
Crystal uses the LocalCode Page to set the language to be used.
It's not clear how Microsoft is using the version of CR shipped with Visual Studio nor is it clear what you are looking for.
I suggest you post your question on MS's site, it's there tutorial so they should be able to help you.
Try this link and search: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vscrystalreports/threads
Thank you
Don
As you are using CR 11.5, open the Developer Help file:
C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Crystal Reports 11.5\Help\en\crsdk_net_doc\doc\crsdk_net_doc.chm
and search for "multilingual".
Also see http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2SP2/en/devsuite.htm
and search for "mulitilingual" there.

Not sure what you are doing but search your PC for "CrystalReportViewer" and you'll find the folder where all of the runtime is available.
If it's a WEB app then shared the folder or copy it to your app folder and share it....
If you search you'll find lots of help on how to configure your WEB site so it can find all of CR's resources.
Or provide enough info on why you are looking for that specific configuration or what the error is you are getting.
Thank you
Don
