Material with deletion flag at WM cycle count

Hi Experts,

could any of You help me how to handle materials with deletion flag during WM-inventory?

We have a system, where obsolete and not-in-use materials also exist (obsolete still has stock).

Obsolete is marked with plant material status (MARA-MSTAE), where an inventory is error (V_141- DBEST = B), which implicates a message M7 / 092 W u2013 when inventory is about to record.

If I mark not-in-use material for deletion both WM and plant data u2013 I am still able to record an inventory for the material via WM cycle count u2013 by adding the material (marked for deletion) manually into the inventory document (we create inventory document via LI01N, LX15). Then the whole inventory could be done with no messages at all. If I mark with status as well, I get a message, but only at the last step LI21, and only a warning also M7 / 092. I can not change messages status to error, because the obsolete material can not have inventory later (but we want to have it.)

Could You pls let me know, how to make sure that no inventory (counting) is allowed in WM for material marked for deletion?

Answers will be appreciated

Hello,

I suggest the best possible way to get rid of all those obsolete material which are not required for physical inventory (cycl counting), is by doing the manual mainteneance of material master record.

Go to MM02 select those material one by one , go to Plant Data/Stor.View-1 and remove (untick) CC Fixed Indicator and also remove the value maintain in CC phys. inv. ind. (one of the either A,B,C,D) and the save the master record.

Once the CC Fixed indicator is unticked those material will not remain in the specified cycle counting category.

I hope this helps

Hi Tushar,

thank You for answering - I actually ended up at the procedure You have suggested.

But I found it as a by-pass and quite an odd, that no standard way to exlude material marked for deletion from WM-inventory (this feature works well in MM inventory). What if I do not have cycle count to disable?

Thanks again
