Activation of ODS failed

I want to know the patch level and oss notes to be applied when the activation of ODS fails...

Hi Gupta,

is your error message 'Key value exists in duplicate' or something similar ?

If so, you probably checked the box 'Unique data records' in your ODS settings. In this case ODS object can be used for loading ONLY unique data records, so, overwriting data records is not permitted, in other words it's not possible to load a data record into the ODS object if the key combination already exists.

Hi Gupta,

Go to se16 and then go to RSISOSMAP table and enter 8 followed by your ODS in the OLTPSOURCE field and tell me what do you see in the TRANSTRU field of your particular ODS. Is it empty or does it have anything??

Under what circumstances and what is the error message?? You dont necessarily need an OSS patch to rectify and ODS activation fail. If you read the error msg, there will be a specific reason.

It is going for a short dump..saying that "already a entry existing ..duplicate line.." but this is first time I am loading my ODS and there was no data earlier even it exists for the same ..it has to maintain in the log... Some one has guided to apply OSS notes ..
