Hello,
I am using Visual Studio 2008 Professional on a Windows 2008 R2 Server 64-bit. I recently installed Crystal Reports 2008 SP3 Full Build. I have two Crystal references in my web service; CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine and CrystalDecisions.Shared. This code was rebuilt in VS 2008 from a formally working version built for VS 2005 and Crystal Reports XI.
When I try to step into a method in this web service in the VS debugger from another ASP.NET web page and I step into the first call to the Crystal 12 library
ReportDocument drillDownCrystalReport = new ReportDocument();
I get an exception that says something to the effect...
"Registry key permissions are insufficient or Crystal Reports runtime.....Please install appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable CRRedist*.msi" and then it says something about x86, 64bit, or Itanium.
I never got a message like this with VS 2005 / Crystal Reports XI, and Windows 2003 Server 64bit.
Do I need to install a runtime package for x86 on the server that has a full install of Crystal Reports 2008? If yes, where should I go to download it?
Thanks,
Michele

I have read some forum postings about compiling as an x86 app; but VS 2008 only gives me an option for "Any CPU." If this is how I correct this problem what text do I add exactly to the configuration manager to switch the compile to a 32 bit app?
Thanks for your help.

If I need an msi installed on my 2008 Server where do I find it? The reference https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=56787567
doesn't list the assembly I have installed in VS 2008
v. 12.0.2000.0
Thanks
