Data Migration from SAP MDM3.0

Hi Experts,

Can any one please tell me how transfer all existing data from SAP MDM3.0 into text or excel fromat ?

do we have syndicator and can we syndicate all this recrods through syndication map on our local machine ?

Hi All,

thanks a lot for your replies, i was talkin about SAP MDM 3.0 and in this Syndicator is not used but through Data Manager only we are syndicating the records. i have a client who still used SAP MDM 3.0 for master data.

Hi Praful,

SAP MDM3.0 system is a very old system. I think it was in business 6 or 7 years back. I never got chance to work on MDM 3.0. But what i heard, it was kind of package on top of Netweaver ABAP system. Data exchange was using ALE or XI/PI.

MDM Syndicator client is not part of SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 delivery package. Also, I couldn't think of any business requirement to syndicate data in case of SRM-MDM Catalog scenario. In case you have came across such scenario, then please can you share your experiences.

Hi Shiv,

In my last project, we have came across to know about the client requirement which was to maintain the Catalogue in MDM, which were displayed in Purchase Requisition transaction ME21N or ME51N i am not sure what it was exactly.

SO in that case, the requirement was that, whatever Materails were in released were syndicated to XI/PI for third party systems and for ECC(ME21N), the catalogues were used which were having the material status as "Released". SAP has provided the MDM Syndicator for the same which was having the same patch as that of SRM MDM Catalogue 2.0 but it was always creating issues as due to hotfix diffirence, many a times syndicator stops working and all.

I think you are talking about SRM MDM Catalog 3.0. Yes you can use syndicator.

Do you have MDM 3.0 or you told about SRM MDM Catalog 3.0?

For SAP MDM 5.5 and SAP MDM 7.1 syndication process is similar.

Yes, you can save data from your repository through syndicator to your local PC in text format.
