Hyperlinks to Documents

Hi There,

I am looking for a little help.

Can the documents within SAP be accessed from a hyperlink external to SAP?

We have an electronic safety case that has a related document element which holds all our procedure documents.

These documents at the moment are in sharepoint. We have hyperlinks into our sharepoint documents folder and when we click on the hyperlink and give our sharepoint log in we can view the document. Is this functionality available in SAP ?

Thanks for your help.

Best Regards,

In EasyDoc, there is a menu item in the context menu to copy as an URL. If it is sufficient to manually copy and paste, this should do what you need. If, however, you need an URL template to allow "converting" a document number into a link, I have asked that question in this forum, and now also business work flow forum.

hi

you can ref to the help on archivelink scenarios in below url

http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/BCSRVARLSC/BCSRVARLSC.pdf

Archivelink uses various Transaction codes to acces dos OAWD,OAG4,OAAD etc.using it own document finder.

the Url can also be generated for viewing thru browser

The other option would be in case u are using Sharepoint as DMS tool & browser there are 3rd part connector like iNet-DM for connecting SAP & Sharepoint using Archivelink.

u will also find other archivelink queries in this forum for your answer.

thanks

That .pdf looks very interesting and I'll go through it as soon as I can.

I'd just like to thank you for taking the time to help me. Anyone can answer a question but you actually take the time and effort to send relevant information that is much more helpful. I appreciate that.

Configure and use Web Documents (simple configuration DMS configuration) i.e, using BSP application- CVAW_ENTIRE,

direct start_page.htm else you can also get the URL link if the documents are stored Open Text live link as below:

http://<ServerName>:8080/archive.dll?get&pVersion=0045&contRep=<ContentRep>&docId=<DocumentID>&compI...;

<ServerName> = HTTP_SERV field in table CREP_HTTP. Lookup using <ContentRep> in CREP_ID field.

<ContentRep> = STOR_REP field in table SDOKSTCA.

HI

If your question is as i interpret once i upload the documents in SAP storage repository would i be able to access it thru a hyperlink external to SAP?

SAP provides various methods of storing Document thru SAP DMS, ArchiveLink, Services for Object..

Using Archive-link is the ideal method for such a scenario as many external DMS interfaces uses the Archive-link.

if u are using sharepoint & want to view the documents stored in SAP from sharepoint .

there are specific SAP Sharepoint connectors available which allows uploading & viewing documents stored in SAP Content repository thru hyperlink.

hope i have answered your query.

tnx

Hi John,

Thanks for your reply.

That's great news that it can be done.

Do you have any information on ArchiveLink?

Is it setup from the SAP users side. How do we get to use ArchiveLink from our external apps?

If you have some links to ArchiveLink it would be very appreciated.

Thanks again for taking the time to help.

Best Regards,
