Is the specification type PURE_SUB not delivered as a standard?

Hi,

I am currently configuring specification types and I can not find PURE_SUB in the list. Is there a SAP note or do I have to create it myself?

Hi Gustav,

use identifiers to clearly identify a specification using various identifiers. The categories name, number, and chemical formula are delivered in the standard system, which enables easily to configure specifications types. The identification type gives a more exact description of the identification category. Try the following link for more details.

Hi Gustav,

As Christoph said, I think "PURE SUBSTANCE" comes with the SAP standard package. Of course you can create new specification types as you like using different authorization groups and link them to materials

Hi,

I have access to two different reference systems and neither have the Pure substance. I have searched for notes but can't find anything relevant. I guess that creating the substance myself is the only option.

If someone has something else to add to the list of important things when creating the Pure substance please don't hesitate share the knowledge

I believe the "PURE_SUB" might be related either to the "old" CLEO content or SAP Compliance for Products or SAP product and REACH COmpliance. I found as you no clear information if PURE_SUB is delivered with EH&S itself.

We are not using it and it is not part of our EH&S systems

In any case: you can create new types by your own in customizing; I am not aware of any "hard" coding in SAP EH&S related to a control regarding the content of this customizing table.

assuming you have installed/activated EH&S according to the SAP process and prepared well your client you are using: : EH&S is using now at many placed the specification category and type. There might be some "places" there the "activation"/"set up" of EH&S need to be controlled.

To my knowledge PURE_SUB should be part of SAP standard delivery. Now customizing is always related to some customizing tables. An important step ist to make the "link" between specification type and category. There are some "TCG*" tables in which the primary customizing decisions are stored in (TCG36 I believe ?). Here you should find "hopefully" PURE_SUB.

It is important that you assign "SUBSTANCE" to as category to the spec type. This is needed in cg02 etc.

Keep in mind that durig the setup of value assignment types you can control the assignment of specs. as well (in value assignments of type B or C). Keep further in mind that it is a good idea to "control" the standard delivery (e.g. normally LIST_SUB can be referenced. No idea regarding PURE_SUB),.

This "basic" custimzing is "critical" for the other steps in EH&S too.
