cross system MRP

Hi,

I am trying to integrate a ECC and a 4.0 system. with some components in ECC being sourced from plants on the 4.0 system and vice versa. I know we can setup dummy plants for 4.0 in ECC and generate the PO/SO via ALE interface tp get these components. However I do not want sales orders dropping in the plants unless I am certain I have stock to satisfy them. In that case what would be the best way forward to integrate these two systems. The PO/SO scenario would eventually come in picture to ship against. However I would like to first send the dependant demand to the other system to plan against and then convert the purchase req to PO and generate the SO. For that I have identified what I feel could be 2 possible solutions.

1. Use the stock/reqs list idoc to publish the dependant reqs across systems and then plan for them, receive the production order, convert the req in the ordering ECC plant, send the PO as an SO to the supplying 4.0 plant.

2. Use a custom table in ECC, to capture the dependant reqs for these components, use a BAPI and then publish them to the 4.0 system and then complete the process.

I would appreciate it if someone could let me know if either of the 2 approaches is feasible and if yes then which would be a better approach and why ?

Thanks
