Copy query to a new ODS ?

Former Member

Hi,

We are developing many queries and concerned with reusability of the queries when the ODS has changed.

Appreciate knowledge sharing:

a) Is it possible to replicate the queries to a new ODS ?

b) Can we export queries as XML & then import for another ODS ?

We are using BW 3.1

Thanks & Regards,

Chen

Hi,

Just remember that RSRZ not only copies query definition but also all the reusable object such as variables and structures.

RSZC off course

Again, use RSZC.

Hi,

The problem with RSZC is, that it only copies the query and reusables and adds the suffix_1 to that objects. That is inappropriate for us, as we want to use the same query name. Otherwise we would have to change a lot of web templates.

The best way is to copy them and save them again. Unfortunately there is no other way to achieve the task but this way it's much faster than creating all the queries again.

Hello Chen,

you can copy queries from one ODS (InfoProvider) to another ODS (or InfoProvider) using transaction RSZC.

Hi,

does anybody know, if there's also a possibility to MOVE queries to another InfoProvider?

Reason:

We just created a Multiprovider on Top of identical Basic Cubes to build up a szenario for logical partioning. Now we would like to move our old querys from the Basic Cube to the new Multicube. This should work as all characteristics are identical.

Thanks for advice.

Rgds,

Stefan
