Virtual Key Figure

Hi All,

Has anyone had any experience with Virtual key Figures? If you do, I would like to ask you regarding a solution. In virtual KF if you see, you have to write a code that includes the chars involved and then calculate. But I have to use a variable on a characteristic to do this. Not the char itself.

Any ideas appreciated

    Hi,

The exit for virtual characteristics / keyfigures and the exit for variables share the same function group, and hence the same global memory. So, the value selection made by the user for the variables can be made easily known in the virtual exit.

There is a How to Doc (HOW TO IDENTIFY COMPRESULTS.doc) available for this at service.sap.com.

    Thanks,

    • Just a quick commnent on this how-to paper. The implementation of the VKF exit is not tuned for performance! SELECT statements of any kind should be avoided in this exit (or reduced to an absolute minimum) since they will be executed for every record returned from the InfoCube.

I believe you do have access to the variables. I believe both user exits by luck are in the same group or something like that... Try seeing if you can loop through the variables table in your VKF logic..

    Good Luck
