Internet Transaction Server (ITS) - Guides and Installation

Dear All,

We are a bit behind the times I'm afraid. We run a UK system on 3.1H and a European System on 4.6C.

We are now, however, investigating upgrades/migrations etc.

Part of my task is to report the benefits and uses of the Internet Transaction Server. I attended the BC440 in 2000 and we've installed ITS on our 4.6c development box. I've also installed SAP@Webstudio v6.2 and am able to get that to communicate to the dev box.

What we can't get to work is defining an ITS site so that I can call the service from a web browser.

Has anyone any suggestions, ideas, recommendations? I'm not sure, but I fell we have overlooked something on the installation side. If anyone knows of a good step-by-step guide to the installation procedure, we would be very grateful.

Regards,

Nigel.

    Hello Nigel,

try to find out through the IIS Console on which port your ITS is listening. Then put this Port into this URL:

    http://your-its.host.name:PORT/

When you have the Internet Application Components (IAC's) installed a page linking to some of them should be opened. If you have not installed them during installation you can run the installation routine of the ITS again an install them. A good test is also the SAP GUI for HTML which is available after installation at:

    http://your-its.host.name:PORT/scripts/wgate/webgui/!

Don't forget the "!" in the URL.

What I recommend is not to use the SAP@WebStudio because it is difficult to integrate in the Change and Transport Management. Use the Web Application Builder in SE80 which is completely integrated in the SAP Transport system.

    Regards

    Gregor
