Flash Island fireEvent: not working with large context attributes ?

Hi,

My WD4A application has a flash island, and I transfer XML to and from the island in a string from a context attribute. The XML is transferred back to the relevant attribute when an event is fired. However, when the XML is relatively large (say 5MB) the 'fireEvent' method does not appear to work properly: a breakpoint in the WD event handler does not get hit, and I get Internet Explorer warnings about scripts running slowly.

If I choose to allow the 'script' to keep running it just comes back with the same warning, if I don't allow it to continue I get the 'spinning WD doughnut' forever, though the flex application moreless recovers. From that point on though communication back to the WD is not possible.

Any ideas anyone ?

Thanks,

Nick

PS. The XML is in a [Bindable] public string variable, which maps back to an attribute in the context.

PPS. I used httpWatch to see what was being sent back to the web-dynpro. There were 0 bytes transferred after the event was fired.....
