MSS Team Calendar - Planned Working hrs= 0 but shows as absent

We have casual employees included in the org structure. Casual Employees do not have a set work schedule but are paid on the basis of actual hours worked. Therefore they have a dummy work schedule in IT 0007 with 0 working hours.

However in team calendar, all these guys are showing up as Absent. Is there any way to differentiate between employees who have absence records and employees whose planned working time for the day is 0? There is a BadI which seems to control colour settings and am not sure if there is any way to use this.
