FB50, FB60: Horizontal scroll bar disappeared after system copy.

Hello,

Need your help please. We have recently done a system copy of production into QA systems. Ever since we have done that we are finding that the document entry screens of FB50, FB60 have changed. Now, only the initial screen is visible to the user. the horizontal scroll bar that is there to enable you to select cost objects that are further to the right, for eg, Building, Cost Centre etc is not there. As such, it is not allowing the user to fill up any information for these fields.

These features are working perfectly fine in production and also used to work fine before the system copy. Can someone please guide if they have faced such an issue before?

Regards,

Suvarghya Dutta

I think some fields are set to invisible, try below and see.

Go to table setting ( It should be on the right top side of the box, with blue/yellow/white) -> Click on Administrator-> see the 3rd column ( Invisible) and see what field you want to display after you unselect -> Click on Activate -> Save.

Hi ,

there can be 2 reasons to it -

1. Screen varient - In FB60 go to edit menu - screen varient - select screen varient - the same one as production .

2. Fields set as invisible - Extemely right in the line items tab - Click on the icon , check what is the varient selected there , compare the same with PRD , else go to administrator button and uncheck the fields which are marked as invisible .

HI Dewang & Mahesh,

Thanks for your responses. I had already tried this before. I saw that the settings are identical between the Prod and QA systems.

Dewang,

For your suggestion on "...1. Screen varient - In FB60 go to edit menu - screen varient - select screen varient - the same one as production..." I found that the sub menu looks deactivated across all systems. However, i am quite sure that the settings are the same between both QA and Prod system.

We had also logged a call with SAP and based upon their advice I made some changes. Below is the reply that I just gave to SAP. Will be grateful if someone else can also please in the meantime help me understand the solution:

Response by me to SAP:

===============================================================

I have clicked on the blue-white-yellow icon and from there selected "administrator" and then went inside 'further settings' and saw that the number of fixed columns were maintained at 5. This is identical with the settings in PROD.

Just to experiment I changed the number to 4. When I 'activated' it and then 'saved' the settings I could see that the scroll bar has returned.

However, what I am baffled about is that why is it that the settings in Prod are showing 5 and YET it shows the scroll bar WHEREAS for QA I had to reduce it to 4?

Since we have done a system copy from Prod, I know that the settings are identical between the two systems. Inspite of that to see the same screen in QA I have to now reduce the colm number to 4. Can you please let us know why this is happening?

There is another angle to this issue. If we go to tcode FB60 we can see that when the settings are maintained at 5, the screen STILL shows the scroll bar in QA. Whereas for tcodes FB50 and 70, the scroll bar disapperars at '5'.

Therefore there are two things that we would like to know:

1. Why is it that despite having identical settings between QA and PROD, I have to change the settings to '4' for the scroll bar to appear in QA for FB50 and 70?

2. Why is it that for tcode FB60, the scroll bar STILL shows even when the settings are maintained at 5 but then fb50/70 dont show unless I reduce the settings to 4?

I hope I have been able to express my queries clearly. If you need any further information, please let me know.
