Issues connecting to universe in Crystal

Hi,

I go into crystal and select universe as my datasource. I get a prompt to login into the enterprise server XI 3.1 and then I select the universe and get the following error:

All the servers with CMS XYZ:6400 cluster XYZ:6400, kind webiserver which hosts CDZHome, are down or disabled.

I have checked Servers in CMC and two failed to start:

WebIntelligenceProcessingServer

ReportApplicationServer

I have tried to re-start them but they remain failed. The message "This server is considered failed because it has stopped 5 time(s) in 60 minute(s)." is shown.

Any help would be gratefully recieved.

What kind of license key do you use? Is this a temp key? Has it expired?

Do you have any service packs and/or fix packs installed? Which OS does your BO server run on?

Have you tried creating a new Webi processign server in the CMC (Under Server)?

Even if you just use crystal the webI processing server is involved when you are accessing a universe.

CR reports based on universes require WebIntelligence report server.

If that server can't start - that's your root cause.

You need to determine why it is not starting.

there are tons of KB articles on all possible reasons for it as well as several threads in this forums.
