Hello,
Can I check with you on the following regarding copy control of delivery documents:
1. Does order-related outbound delivery also imply the billing will be order-related billing?
2. Does outbound delivery without order reference mean there is no reference sales doc or optionally the existing reference sales doc is not used to create the DO? Has this got to do with Delivery-related billing? Please provide an example for this form of DO.
thanks.
regards
Pascal
1. Not necessary. Order / Delivery Related BIling Relevance is controlled in Item Category (VOV7) - BIlling Relevance
2. Example - Packing Materials entered directly in Delivery. In case where Item are added directly in Delivery, the Sales Order controls are derived from Default Order Type assigned in Delivery type (0VLK) - DL.
Hope this helps...

Dear Jignesh,
To finalise, can i confirm that point 2 means DO without Order reference simply is such that an additional item can be entered directly in the DO and a reference Order can already exist?
So, in this case, the manually inserted DO item gets derived by the system its Item category?
Thanks.

Yes. You can add Item in Delivery even for a Delivery which is reference to a Sales Order.
Item Category Determination will happen from T-Code 0184 (IMG - Logistics Execution - Shipping - Deliveries - Define Item Category Determination in Deliveries).
Hope this clarifies.
Thanks,

1. Does order-related outbound delivery also imply the billing will be order-related billing?
Yes and no, depends on the setting in sales order item category ->field billing relevance (t.code VOV7). This also depends on maintenance of copy control settings, example sales order -> billing and delivery to billing. (t.code VTFA and VTFL).
2. Does outbound delivery without order reference mean there is no reference sales doc or optionally the existing reference sales doc is not used to create the DO? Has this got to do with Delivery-related billing? Please provide an example for this form of DO.
Yes, for example, creation of inbound delivery against purchase order. This has no reference to sales document and will result in delivery related billing.
